First Day at the CrCF

Share

I just completed my first year at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, Canada. I will now be spending the summer of 2017 in Bangkok, Thailand as an academic visitor with the Cross Cultural Foundation (CrCF). Before attending law school, I completed an undergraduate degree in International Relations and then a Master’s degree in Political Science. I’ve had a keen interest in human rights work, and am really excited about the opportunity to work with the CrCF.

After spending almost 20 hours on a plane, I arrived in Bangkok on Saturday. This was my first time in Asia. Despite the humidity, the traffic, and some mild jetlag, I was really excited to begin exploring the city. So after settling into my apartment, I set out to explore my new neighbourhood. The city is so busy and interesting. I can’t wait to explore more of Bangkok as well as other areas of Thailand and the surrounding region.

Today has been the first day with the Cross Cultural Foundation (CrCF). I’m really excited about the CrCF’s mission. And after my orientation session this morning, I’m looking forward to the opportunities I’ll have to both contribute to and learn from the work of the CrCF. I now have a small stack of literature to work my way through, which should provide me with a foundation to better understand the issues that the CrCF seeks to address. I hope to use this blog to recount some of my experiences and to reflect on some of my observations during my time with the CrCF.
