The Cross Cultural Foundation (CrCF) and the World Organisation Against Torture (OMCT) have jointly submitted a report to the United Nations Committee Against Torture for its 81st session, taking place from 28 October to 22 November 2024. The review of Thailand’s report is scheduled for 5 and 6 November 2024.

This report addresses critical issues, including gaps in legal safeguards and barriers to accountability within Thailand’s legal framework. It highlights allegations of torture and other cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment, as well as cases of enforced disappearance. Additionally, it provides updates on the status of complaints, investigations, and prosecutions, offers recommendations, and examines instances of reprisals and attacks against human rights defenders, journalists, and victims’ families.
