Somyot Prueksakasemsuk

Somyot was detained at the Aranyaprathet immigration checkpoint on April 30, 2011, after he launched a campaign to collect 10,000 signatures demanding parliament to amend the lèse-majesté law. He was charged under Section 112 only because he allowed two articles by another author. which criticized the monarchy, published in the magazine "Siang Thaksin" after Somyot's arrest He was never released on bail. He was released on April 30, 2018, serving a total of seven years in prison.
