Sombath Somphone

Sombath Somphone is a Lao social developer and winner of the Magsaysay Award who disappeared as a result of his abduction in Vientiane on Dec 15, 2012, although the Lao government denies a link and claimed to have no involvement but it is believed that there are enough conspiracy theories to convince the Lao government of planning the kidnappings because they had never disclosed his kidnapping at all. Sombath was kidnapped in Vientiane on the evening of Dec 15, 2012, CCTV showed footage of police calling him out of his car and taking him into a pickup truck. The Lao government immediately denied responsibility for his disappearance.
