On July 26, 2016, 8 police dressed in plain clothes arrested Ms. Narisarawan Kaewnopparat, working at a government office in the Makasan area by presenting an arrest warrant issued by the Narathiwat Court on suspicion of defamation and offenses under the Computer Crimes Act, reported by Lieutenant Phuri Pereksophon since Feb 2015 for posting information about torture Private Wichian Phuaksom, uncle, where Ms. Narisarawan never received the summons that the police claimed had been sent twice before the Muang Narathiwat Police Station issued an arrest warrant when this led to an arrest by the police of the Southern Border Provinces Police Operation Center on July 26, 2016.
