Takbai 20th year Memorization, Fighting against Impunity and Upholding the Rule of Law

🔹The Cross-Cultural Foundation (Thailand) together with (@Asia Justice and Rights) is organizing an event on 22 October 2024 to present key findings of AJAR transition Justice Handbook; an initiative to commemorate the 20 years of the Tak Bai incident.

🔹The event is to express our solidarity with the victims of the Tak Bai Incident and their families as they seek justice for the tragic deaths of individuals during a peaceful protest in 2004. While no compensation can erase the pain of this tragedy, Thailand’s courts might seize the opportunity to deliver justice to this community and to bring back our rule of law taken away for decades.
Tentative Program:

▪️ Exhibition on the memorization of Tak Bai by The Deep South Museum and Archives’ Initiative (DSMA)

▪️ Film screening on Tak Bai by the independent filmmakers (20 minutes)  Film by Teerawat Rujenatham and Walai Buppha

▪️ Panel discussion on Tak Bai incident and transitional justice
