It has been two years now since Wanchalearm Satsaksit, Thai activist who went to exile in Cambodia and was enforced disappearance in front of his apartment in Phnom Penh on June 4, 2020. At the moment, Sitanun Satsaksit, the sister of Wanchalearm, was informed by the Office of the Attorney General that the case is under the investigation of Phnom Penh Municipal Court. However, she did not receive any further details and would like to be clarified on her brother’s fate.

On 8 Dec 2020, Ms. Sitanan Satsaksit, an elder sister of Mr. Wanchalearm as a civil party and the witness of the criminal case together with her Cambodian lawyer and her Thai- Khmer interpreter testified in front of the investigative judge of Phnom Penh Court. In addition, she handed over 177 documents Thai-Khmer language today. The criminal case stated that Mr. Wanchalearm was arbitrary detained by those who were armed. The investigative judge took one and a half hour between 9.00-10.20 questioning and listening to Ms. Sitanan’s statement.

On 8 Dec 2020 from 9.00 am onwards, Ms. Sitanan Satsaksit will deliver oral and written statements to the investigative judge at the Phnom Penh Municipal Court as per subpoena in criminal case no. 4832, related to the abduction and arbitrary detention by unidentified armed persons of her brother, Mr. Wanchalearm Satsaksit. The perpetrators forced Mr. Wanchalearm, Ms. Sitanan’s younger brother, into a car and drove away on 4 June 2020 around 4.00 pm.
