Abdullah Abukari was the key witness in a case at the Department of Special Investigation initiated to criminalize high ranking police sergeants. The officer was accused of torture and physically assaulting a client of Somchai Neelapaijit, allegedly guilty of a gun robbery that took place at Narathiwat Rajanagarindra Barracks (Pieleng), Narathiwat Province on January 4, 2004.
