Cross Cultural Foundation (CrCF) and representatives of Deep South groups meeting DSI to inquire about the issuance and execution of search warrant and the seizure of computers belonging to Sahari Jaelong

The Cross Cultural Foundation (CrCF) and representatives from the Muslim Students Federation of Thailand (MUSTFETH) and Student Group of the Southern Border Provinces (PNYS) have met with the Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to inquire about detail of the issuance and execution of search warrant of residence and the seizure of computers belonging to Sahari Jaelong, on 15 March 2023 at 2.00pm. 

It was reported on 13 March 2023 that Mr. Sahari Jaelong, Editor of The Motive news outlet, had his home searched by officials from DSI at 15/20, Moo 6, Tambon Bor Thong, Nong Chik District, Pattani with fully armed security officials. They have conducted a search inside his home for around one hour and have seized from him two notebook computers. Sahari Jaelong works as an independent reporter covering human rights situation in the Southern Border Provinces and has been engaged with fundraising to offer humanitarian assistance to the families affected by human rights violations.
