“Access to Justice & Human Rights in Southern Thailand” is a bi monthly newsletters prepared and disseminated to relevant stakeholders. They will contain up-to-date information about court cases, problematic issues and recommendations.  It will help   prosecutors    and   judges    as   well   as lawyers to gain   insight   into legal   challenges posed   by   the implementation of security laws in the Deep-South. Once it is being disseminated, local CSOs and other stakeholders can refer this practical information as a supplementary references in their daily work.

Muslim Attorney Center


Cross Cultural Foundation and Muslim Attorney Center is partnership to implement a two-year program that seeks to provide free legal aid and tangible assistance for indigents and other vulnerable groups in the Deep-South of Thailand starting in Jan 2011 till Dec 2012. The initiative aims to be a significant step towards enhanced practice of justice and future reconciliation in the Deep-South. The project, funded by the European Union and the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung under “Programme: Non State Actors in Development”, will be implemented in four provinces located in the Deep-South of Thailand: Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat and Songkla.

Key activities include: Free legal service to indigent victims of human rights and strategic litigation, Case meeting for lawyers and human rights law experts, Capacity building trainings for Lawyers and Paralegals, Law student program, Public seminars targeting at local authorities, security forces, decision-makers and judicial officers, Research and case study on the need for free public defender service, Promotion of prosecutor and judges role in solving conflict situation, Formulating policy options to authorities.
