Anon: There have been reports that they are going to crack down on us violently, paving the way to staging a military coup. We need to protect people’s safety and so we shall not resist, but any arrests against us have to be made lawfully. This means they need to come with a warrant from the Civil Court before dispersing the demonstration. Demonstration suppression at night time is a breach of international law. However, this government has repeatedly shown they have scant respect for human rights law. 

We hope that by disbanding our gathering here and re-gathering at the Ratchaprasong Intersection at 16.00 we will keep all parties safe. Those who support us will carry on with the demonstration. 

We understand that preparations have been made for the Cabinet to convene at an alternate location to  Government House anyway. By moving the protest we will not lose any leverage. We have won a victory already by putting pressure on them right at Government House. 

We are heading now to gather at Ratchaprasong, since it is convenient for the demonstrators, to be right in front of the Royal Thai Police Headquarters. 

There will be no economic impact on local retailers, as many protestors will buy food and other items in the malls, and people who are not protesting can still buy and sell as usual. The demonstrations will begin and end at specific times with minimal disruption to commuters. 

People will be aware of the demonstration schedule and can avoid the route and use the BTS. We shall hold steadfast on non-violence. At dawn, we shall farewell our supporters, and then regroup again at Ratchaprasong, probably before noon, although the official schedule will be 4.00 pm. 

We have not yet decided how long we will gather there. Right now, many people from the province are staying overnight with us. The change of venue shall hopefully reduce confrontation. The place is right in downtown under the sight of foreigners. It is a convenient location for people to get to.
