CrCF goes Geneva: I made it here!

Although my time-estimation goes wrong and the struggle with free wifi connection at the airport is real, I am relieved that I’ve made it safely to Geneva. After nearly two years in Asia, I cannot deny how much I’ve missed the fresh cold breeze, and if I have to be even more honest, so far I’ve already enjoyed two huge sandwiches with cheese.

– Traveling is not about the destination: it’s about the ride –

A brief summary of some highlights of my last 22 hours: 1) I’ve tried Turkish coffee sprinkled with cinnamon (not a big fan) for the first time at Istanbul airport; 2) I’ve learned that the Turkish Airlines ground staff is extremely strict when it comes to passport of non-European countries; 3) Le Pret A Manager Cafe at Geneva central station has blocked the category “Social Networking”, therefore I cannot access any social media platforms; 4) The weekly pass for trams and buses in Geneva cost 28 CHF if you are under 25, and I’m turning 26 in September..so I tried to persuade the staff that I’m technically 25 years old. It didn’t work well. I was  still requested to pay the full price of which is 38 CHF.

Nevertheless, I am excited about the upcoming week! Tomorrow is set for the NGOs coordinating meeting by IWRAW (International Women’s Rights Action Watch Asia Pacific) where I will get to meet all the super individuals representing Thai NGOs. I have a feeling that the meeting room will burst with #GRLPWR! Moreover, our CrCF director and the founder of Duay Jai Group will be touching down in the evening and I cannot describe with words how proud I am to be working side by side with these superladies.
