On 21 Feb 2012, Narathivath Provincial Court will call the relative to testify on

the complaint that Mr. S-S was tortured

while detained under Emergency arrest warrant in a ranger unit custody

On 10 Feb 2012, at 10.00 am Mr.  S-S resident of Narathivath province was arrested by army officials of Task force 30 Rusoh District, Narathivath province. He was arrested under Martial law and detained at Ranger Unit No. 46, Kaluwo (north), Muang District,Narathivath province. The relative of Mr. S-S could not visit him on the first day of the detention. Later the relative learnt that he was tortured by officers during interrogation by hitting him on the head, using plastic bag over his head and abusing his sex organ till he went unconscious. The relative has filed the complaint to National human rights commission and also the Internal Security Commander Region 4, however, he was not sent to doctor for examination and for medical treatment. He is now being detained at Ingkhayuth Camp in Pattani under the emergency warrant issued by Narathivath Provincial court.

On 20 Feb 2012, the relative has filed the complaint to Narathivaht Provincial court and object to such illegal detention causing by torture and ill treatment with severe pains. The lawyers of the relative of Mr. S-S urged the court to open the court room to review the complaints immediately and also urged the court to order the responsible officer to bring Mr. S-S to present in front of the court.  The Narathivath Provincial court called the relative to testify on 21 Feb 2012 at 9.00 am
